"Mrs. Louisa H. Nichols, widow of Judge Thomas C. Nicholls of Donaldsonville, died Sunday, 29 Aug. 1852, at "Woodlawn", the residence of her son-in-law, W. W. Pugh. She was the sister of Dr. Joseph Drake and the author of the "Culprit Fay" and "American Flag". She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons."
Published in the "Assumption Pioneer" newspaper in September, 1852.
