About Louisa Esther Flint Patterson
Louisa was the daughter of John DeHart and Sarah Dagworthy. She married John William Patterson in New York City on February 18, 1798, and they had at least two children, Louisa and Lucinda. John Patterson died before 1850.
Her daughter Louisa married John Allan of Richmond, foster father of Edgar Allan Poe. In 1860 she was living with Louisa, by then Allan's widow, in Richmond.
