Louise Arnett (Wheatley)

Louise Solina Wheatley Arnett was born in Santa Domingo, Dominogian Republic on July 6, 1911 to Osorio S. Wheatley and Anna C. Fleury Wheatley. At an early age she came to St. Thomas when the family relocated here, the birthplace of her mother. Many persons may remember her as the owner-operator of Lindberg Bay Beach Club and later of Louise'a Place at the site of the present Wheatley Center. Prior to her retirement 18 years ago, she was a department sales supervisor at The Continental, Inc.

Louise was married to the late Phillip Arnett. Although Mrs. Arnett had no children of her own, she loved children and raise Thelma as her daughter and Thelma's 4 sons and their children as she would her own blood relatives. Her love for them was reciprocated through the love, dedication and devotion Thelma and her family manifested, especially during the last years when she was virtually incapacitated by her illness. Her gentle kind manner was known to many in our community and she will be sorley missed by all who knew her.
