About Louise Johns
Louise Wilde Johns, 97, returned to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
Louise was born on June 21, 1915 in Carey, Idaho. She was the 11th child born to Emanuel and Betsey Slaughter Wilde. In 1933 Louise played on the Girls State Basketball Championship team from Carey High School. She graduated that same year from Carey High School.
On November 4, 1933 she married Carl Johns in the LDS Church in Twin Falls, ID. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were the parents of five children.
She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She especially enjoyed singing in choirs.
Louise was a loving wife and mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Pat (Ken) Spahr, of Boise, Ben (Kay) Johns, of Pocatello, and Lola (Ken) Riley, of Elko, NV; daughters-in-law, Merlene Johns, of Morgan, UT and Martha Johns, of Orem, UT; her sister, Agnes Hess, of American Falls, UT; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, William C and Sidney M. Johns; and two grandsons.
The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home, located at 2005 S. Fourth Ave., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012. A brief memorial service will follow. Burial will be held the next day, Friday, July 20, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Lava Cemetery, Lava Hot Springs, ID.
