Caleb was a son of Daniel Church (1707-1799) and Eunice Winter (1711-1752). He served (1758-1760)in the French & Indian War and was in the battles of Carillon and Fort Oswego. He also served in the Revolutionary War (1777-1779) and was a Lieutenant in Captains Barnum's Danbury Company. He married Gehannah Gregory (~1741-1805) and they had these two children:
