STANDS ON PUBLIC/PRIVATE ISSUES: In 1650 Cecilius Calvert (1605-1675) demanded that Jarboe apolo- gize or be punished for his contemptuous and unmannerly behavior to William Stone (ca. 1603- ca. 1659/60). In 1655 Jarboe supported the rebellion against the Puritan government.
