Made Lieutenant in the Royal Navy on 1 September 1899 (ADM 196/63/76 in the National Archives Kew) 1 October 1905 joins the 117 Mahrattas Served as Captain from 07/12/1909 in the 117th Mahrattas, of the Royal Irish Rifles, 6th Service Battalion. In London Gazette, 5 July, 1910, listed as promoted from Lieutenant to Captain on 9 March 1910.
Made Deputy Assistant Quartermaster General on 21 August 1918 serving at Army Headquarters, India [Indian Army List Vol. 1. p. 16]
