Leander H. Prather was a Union Soldier in Company I 6th Indiana Infantry.
He was the son of Hiram Prather and Mary A. Huckleberry.
He was the husband of Edna L. (Rice) Prather (1856-1920). ∼

Civil War Veteran He enlisted October 25th, 1861 He was discharged on September 19th, 1862 by reason of disability.
He enlisted again on May 3rd, 1864 He was discharged September 21st, 1864
He enlisted again on October 25th, 1864 He was discharged April 1st, 1865
He was discharged July 11th, 1865 with rank of Second Lieutenant in 140th Regiment of The Indiana Infantry. He had to get Certificates of Service because his original discharge papers had been lost. He was applying for admittance to The Solider's Home in Orting, Washington in July 1920. His wife died May of 1920
