About Lucinda Catherine Nye
Mrs. Lucinda Katherine Bingham Nye was claimed by death at her home in Vernal Fourth Ward, January 12th after a brief illness of three weeks. Her case was difficult to determine, but it is supposed to have been heart failure and paralysis. Mrs. Nye was one of the pioneers of this valley, making her home here in 1878. She was the mother of eleven children, eight of whom are still living. They are all married. She is survived by her husband who has been in very poor health for years. Mrs. Nye was a very kind and affectionate mother and a faithful loving wife; in fact it is thought that her death was brought on by the devotion she gave her feeble husband. The funeral services were held at the Maeser Ward house and the remains were interred in the Maeser Cemetery. All of her children attended the funeral. The youngest daughter, Mrs. Jessie Maxwell, whose husband has been drafted and is in the service, is taking care of the invalid father.
