IN MEMORY OF LUCINDA STEELE: Lucinda Rice Steele, was born September 17, 1855 at Parmleysville, Ky., being the daughter of Preston and Charolotti Koger Rice. She departed this life January 10, 1950, being 94 years, 3 months and 23 days old, she was the youngest of a family of nine children.
On March 20, 1884, she married G. S. Steele. She is survived by three children Lillie, Allie and Clephas Rice Steele of Griffin, a son McLeonard preceded her in death thirty years ago. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
She joined the BaBaptist Church at Bethel, Ky., September 20, 1886 and moved her membership to Mt. Zion Church October 26, 1947. She lived a devoted Christian life. She was a devoted mother and will be missed. ... BRC/obit clipping. (1/26/1950).

The pallbearers were Staley Burgess, Clarence and Less Sloan, Dick Pogue, Alfred Abbott and Howard Caylor.
