At Dapto, on Wednesday, Miss Lucy, third daughter of Mr Wm. Beach, was united to Mr Sydney Gear, of Tullumbar. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J Stack.

Illawarra Mercury (Wollongong) Saturday 14 June 1902:

On Thursday morning a sad death occurred at the Wollongong Hospital, when Mrs. Gear (third daughter of Mr. W. Beach J.P., of Dapto), passed away.

Mrs. Gear had been staying with her parents here for the past month, and became ill a few days ago. Last Sunday morning Dr. Lee pronounced the patient to be suffering from typhoid fever and ordered her immediate removal to the Wollongong Hospital, where it was at once seen the case was critical.

She leaves a husband and one child, aged two years, to whom, with Mr. and Mrs. Beach and family, much sympathy is extended.
