"Albany was the eldest son of Alexander V and Anne and was to become the next owner of Featherstone, sometime after 1544.Under a contract dated 1 July 1543, he married Lucy Dudley of Yanworth, Westmorland.In 1553, the year that his uncle Richard's (executed in 1540) former pupil Mary came to the Throne, Albany had a grant of possessions, that had belonged to the convent at Lambley and under Elizabeth, in 1560 he was made High Sheriff (official representative of the Crown) of the County of Northumberland.In 1568, Albany is recorded to have been 'possessed of Fetherstonhaugh, The Rawe, Whiterham, Lambley, Redpath, Wydon, Wydon Eals, Horse Close, Kellaw, Greenrigs, Harperhouses, beside certain lands in Haltwhistle, Milnhouses and Umbres.'Albany and Lucy had five children and Albany also had a 'bastard daughter, Isabella,' who is mentioned in the 1544 will of Alexander V.Albany made a will in 1573***, the year in which he died, mentioning all his children, and Albany his grandson.After the death of Albany, his widow Lucy is said to have married Gerard Lowther of Penrith."
