About Lydia Maybell Blackmore
From Pete's journal: Maybell went up to spend some time with sister Zina in Lundbreck and after a while took sick. Mother went up soon and then summoned Jim-when Jim arrived Maybell was so low or passed on-but Jim, wonderful as he is, administered to her asking the Lord to save her and give him a chance to care for her, as he hadn't had a chance to assist her in any way. She was returned and Jim got her into the hospital in Lethbridge. There the doctors made a blood transfusion, directly from Jim into her; they took too much from Jim, nearly costing him his life. She lived for a few days and Father called her home. This was a terrible shock. All summer long of 1921we expected Jim to topple over any time; he was so weak.
