DeLaRosa, Lydia M. MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Lydia M. DeLaRosa, 95, of Brickyard Road, died Sunday morning, February 2, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital, from complications of recent hip surgery. Born in Riverside, April 27, 1912, daughter of the late William and Florence Villeneuve Patenaude, Mrs. DeLaRosa was a homemaker, and wife for 45 years of the late Julian DeLaRosa, and grandmother of the late twin infant grandchildren, Matthew and Maria DeLaRosa. Lydia had an inborn musical talent that enabled her to play the piano and organ to all's enjoyment. She also was an excellent seamstress who could create her own fashions. A devoted member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Stillwater, she was also a former member of the Altar and Rosary Societies. As the matriarch of the Patenaude family, Lydia was always there for anyone, in their time of need or crisis. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara and husband Robert Horstmyer; son, Julian and wife Florence DeLaRosa, all of Mechanicville; grandchildren, Alissa (Patrick) Holland, Valerie (Jason) Peluso, Jared and David DeLaRosa; step-grand and great- grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Bolton and Doris Petronis, both of Mechanicville, Connie Rush of Troy; and brothers, Earl Patenaude of Calif. and Kenneth Patenaude of Stillwater; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. DeLaRosa was also predeceased by brothers and sisters, Wilford, Lionel, Lawrence, Florence, Amelia, Arnold and Leroy Patenaude. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, No. Hudson Ave., Stillwater. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville. Relatives and friends may call at St. Peter's Church, Thursday beginning at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either St. Peter's Church, Stillwater Ambulance Fund or Community Hospice of Saratoga. Arrangements by the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, Mechanicville.
