When Lydia Chapman was born on 15 December 1679, in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony, British Colonial America, her father, Isaac Chapman, was 32 and her mother, Rebecca Leonard, was 21. She married John Dillingham II about 1700, in Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 7 daughters. She died on 4 September 1760, in Brewster, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, at the age of 80, and was buried in Dillingham Cemetery, Brewster, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.

Son of 207 John and Elizabeth (Feake). Called "John, 2nd, of Satucket" • Born 1663 In Sandwich; died 11 September, 1745, in Harwich, "aged 83".

THIRD GENERATION

In 1701 and again in 1703 he was chosen constable of Harwich.

In 1703, John Dillingham, Jr., was taxed in Harwich.

In 1720 he was adminis trator of the estate in-law” ( step-nother ) , Elizabeth Dillingham; in No. 23 in the Harwich meeting house.

In 1724, as John Dillingham, Sr., he is on heads of families in Harwich.

His will, dated 5 June, 1741 and probated 1 January 1746, mentions wife Lydia, father John, son Isaac Clarke, Hannah Bourne, Rebecca Knov/ls, Pope, Sarah Freeman, and son-in-law of estate amounted to L 7862-17-4, agreement between the heirs, 17 July, 1751, John Dillingham, Jonathan Bourne, Amos Know Is and Benj . Freeman, Jr,, sign In behalf of the rest of the heirs.

He married, about 1700, Lydia 3 Chapman, daughter of Isaac 2 (Ralph 1) and Rebecca (Leonard) of Barnstable. She was born 15 December, 1579, and died 4 September, 1760, "aged 80",

  • 416 ii. Elizabeth. Born 2 August, 1703; died before 1746; married 12 October, 1721, Elnathan Wing, son of Ananias and Hannah, of Harwich. He was born 20 October, 1692.
  • 417 iii . Lydia. Born 21 June, 1705; married 15 November, 1724, Roland 4 Clark, son of Thomas 3 and Sarah of Harwich. John Dillingham, Jr., of Harwich, appointed administrator of the estate of Rowland Clarke, 18 March, 1745.
  • 418 iv. Hannah. Born 2 February, 1706/17; died 18 June, 1747; married 14 October, 1725, Jonathan Bourne of Sandwich, who was born 1702/3.
  • 419 v, Rebecca. Born 24 June, 1709; married 29 January, 1729/ 30, Amos Knowles of Eastham.
  • 420 vi. Isaac. Born 4 May, 1711; died prior to 20 March, 1740, when administration of his estate was granted to his brother John* . He was mentioned as "marriner" and "Laborer". The inventory of his property Included whale irons, lances and warps, sheep, lambs, and an apprentice boy. Probably not married.
  • 421 vii. Abigail. Born 2 June, 1713; died 30 July, 1802, "in her 90th year"; married 17 November, 1731, Prince Freeman, son of Nathaniel and Mary (Watson). He was born 22 July, 1712 and died 16 December, 1790.
  • 422 viii. Edward. Born 17 May, 1715; died 27 May, same year.
  • 423 ix. Thankful. Born 18 April, 1718; died 13 April, 1756; marriied 26 September, 1735, Thomas Pope of Sandwich. He was born 1709 and died 25 March, 1784.
  • 24 x. Sarah. Born 10 February, 1719/20; died " aged about 60”; married 15 March, 1737/8, Benjamin Free¬ man, Jr., of Harwich. He was born 10 January, 1717/R, and died 10 December, 1786. He marr¬ ied, 2nd, Susannah (Dillingham) Bangs, widow of Elkanah, and daughter of John 4 Dillingham and Mehitable Gray.
