"Two years after graduating from the officer's school, he entered a two-month summer internship with the 6th Infantry Regiment of Subotica. Here he met Anna Gerőfi, the daughter of the director of a brick factory. They got married in the spring of 1900. Their apartment was at 80 Szondy Street. Their first child, Sari, was born in 1901, the second, Matthew in 1902, and the third, Paul in 1903. His wife contracted renal tuberculosis and died on February 10, 1910."
