Mabel Newby

Mabel Newby, 90, of Fanshawe, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in Poteau. She was born Sept. 24, 1914 at Magazine, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of the Worldwide Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; one son, Bill; one grandson, Ted; and two brothers, Jason and Troy Holderfield.

Survivors include three sons, Don Newby of Spiro, Johnny Newby of Van Buren, Ark. and Robert Newby of LeQuire; four sisters, Marie Wann and Wandy Newby, both of Fort Smith, Ark., Elenise Glenn of Smithville and Claudean Goss of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 in LeFlore Cemetery with the Rev. Les Scroggins officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
