M. New Register House, Edinburgh, Baldernock Baptisms, 1820-54, reference OPR.471/2].

Maternal Grandparents

The maternal grandparents of Madeline Barbara Elizabeth Dirom lived long enough to see their first grandchild. Lietenant-General Thomas Peter of Crossbasket and his wife, Barbara Cunningham, were living in their daughter's household at Craigmaddie, in Baldernock parish, Stirlingshire, when their first grandchild was born. She was probably baptised at Craigmaddie and her maternal grandparents would undoubtedly have been the principal witnesses present at this important family event.
