Magdalena "Mooney" Budziszewska

Magdalena, daughter of css Elizabeth Maria Lili Colonna-Walewska, was also known as Mooney. My great-aunt, Marjorie Lucadou Wells, looked after the girl from around 1913 till they ended up in the UK in 1923 having traveled to Russia, Odessa, Constantinople and through Romania back to Warsaw. Magdalena traveled only with the father, the painter Waclaw Radwan and not with the Countess. The fate of css Elizabeth Maria Lili Colonna-Walewska during WWI is unknown.

She returned to Poland, married and had a daughter, Jadwiga. The husband died so she re-married and had two sons. The family suffered in WW2, and her second husband died in Auschwitz. At the end of the war Mooney and her children were able to get to Sweden and then the USA where Mooney lived until her death in the 1980s. Her daughter and granddaughter live on the East Coast of the USA.
