Magla Markusdatter Aksland

excerpt from a document (in sources) titled "Alloidal Estate of Axland in Imsland near Stavanger, Norway" in the personal files of Clarice Axland Andersen of Harlan, Iowa dated 1953

"In 1868, Markus Olsen divides the farm of Aksland between his oldest son, Torjug and his daughter Magla, who was married to Johannes Larseh. Torjus took the east part and Magla took the west part.' The dividing line went right through the midlle of the barn. This barn was used in common during 40-50 years. Now there are new sets of buildings on both places. [...]

Magla and Johannes (*Aksland), had nine children: Lars, Markus, Martin and Ola, went to America while they were young men. Of these Martin is the only one still alive. Of the daughters, Ingeborg and Kersti are living in America. Johannes, Brita and Brita remained in Imsland and they are now all dead."
