About Maine Swete Walrond, 5th Marquis de Vallado
NOTE: The origin of his first names, passed down to umpteen of his descendants, comes from the fact that his great-great-aunt's (Grace Walrond's) second husband, Maine Swete, transferred part of his estate in Antigua to Maine Swete Walrond's father by an indenture dated 30 04 1726. At the time, Maine Swete cannot have expected an heir, although in fact he had one (who died without issue) by a second wife - who died in 1781 and left her lands in Devon and Antigua to someone apparently completely unrelated.
