Living in the New London-Colchester area, he was husband of Abigail (Scott?) Allen. Father of James, Elisha, and Sally Allen. James Allen was a Revolutionary War soldier, in the US Army, 1798-1803 and a privateer during the War of 1812 where he was a merchant, and captured July, 1812 by the Royal Navy. He was a prisoner of war during the War of 1812. While, Elisha was a pioneer settler of Stoneham, Maine. and is buried in East Stoneham/Canton, Maine. Almost nothing is known of Malachi's mother, Sally Allen, or his own vital information.
"Deserted on his way from Colchester~ to camp at Fort Arnold about the 10th of April, one MALACHI ALLEN (belonging to Colchester) of Captain Daniel Allen's Company, Colonel Wylly's Regiment; about 5' 10", something sturdy built, walks a little stooping, about 29, light complexion, light hair, gray eyes. $8.00 reward. Capt. Daniel Allen. July 4, 1778" [2]
Note Burial Unknown at this time. Could possibly be buried somewhere in Salem or Colchester, Connecticut. These are areas where Malachi lived. The burial locations of Abigail and Sally Allen are also unknown. His wife, daughter, and sons later lived in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
