26 February 1564: Precept proceeding in name of Patk. Bellenden, Sheriff Principal of Orkney, narrating that complaint has been made by Jas. Irwyne that umq. Wm. Grot after the decease of John of Papla intromitted with certain lands in Tankerness pertaining to said James and that Malcum, son of said umq. 19 November 1591: Instrument of Sasine in favour of James Feaw in Clastrane, of the 6d. land of Clastrane and St. Margarets Quoy, in island of Stronsay; on (1) quitclaim and renunciation, dated 16 October 1591, subscribed by Thomas Auchinlek, servant to Robert Earl of Orkney, as principal, and by Hew Gordoun of Bellinlone, Thomas Bellenden, apparent heir of Evie, and Patrick Gordoun as witnesses; and (2) precept of sasine, dated 12 October 1591, by said Robert, Earl of Orkney; and upon infeftment said James Feaw gave sasine to Margaret Grott, his spouse, of the liferent of said lands Witnesses to the Sasine: Malcolm Grott of Tankerness, Mr. James Maxvell, vicar of Stronsay, James Scolaw, eldest son to David Scolaw of Tofts, Olaw Scott, James Maxvell, son to said Mr. James Maxvell, William Maxvell, Alexander Dunbar, Magnus Feaw and Thomas Garioch.
