- Memorial Services for Malcolm Joseph Couvillon, Sr., will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 in St. Rita Catholic Church with a rosary recited at 10 a.m. Malcolm Joseph Couvillon, Sr., 77, of Alexandria passed away Friday, September 12, 2008 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Paul and Rose Marie Couvillon and Ethel Couvillon; one brother, Leroy Paul (Buddy) Couvillon, Jr. and one sister, Ruth Bordelon. Mr. Couvillon was employed by KALB-TV for 39 years. He later worked at the Food Bank under VISTA for 3 years and worked as a school crossing guard for 6 years at J.B. Nachman School. He is survived by his wife, Connie Carole Freet Couvillon; two sons, Malcolm Joseph Couvillon, Jr. and special friend, Chris Bice; Lyle Wayne Couvillon and his wife, Nancy Luce Couvillon; one daughter, Candy Kay Couvillon Ringler and her husband, John F. Ringler; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of Knights of Columbus also serving as treasurer of Council 1134, worked with several bowling leagues as Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Couvillon was a coach in Dixie Youth Baseball for 8 years and belonged to Safe Streets and Neighborhood Watch and attended the Citizens Academy with the Alexandria Police Department.
