MAMIE'S OBITUARY

FORBES, Mamie Gordon – Born September 24, 1929, passed away peacefully at Bay Side Home, Brass Hill, on December 25, 2018, at the age of 89. She was the daughter of Edward James and Muriel May (Forbes) Nickerson. She is predeceased by husband Ronald Franklin; and siblings, Vivian, Ruth, Gertrude, Audrey, James, Sybil, Barbara and Elsie. She is survived by her sons, Michael Alan (Moira) Forbes, Ronald Brian (Linda) Forbes, Stephen Richard (Marianne) Forbes, Kevin Edward (Alda) Forbes and Alexander Jon (Jackie) Forbes; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she enjoyed children and babies. She also loved her Cocker Spaniels and animals in general, including a succession of beloved cats. Before old age overtook them, she and her husband Ronald were enthusiastic bowlers, campers and travelers, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H M Huskilson’s Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Barrington. An informal interment ceremony for family and friends will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be to a charity of choice. The family would also like to extend their thanks to the hardworking caregivers and maintenance staff at Bay Side Home for their considerate care.
