About Marcial Kasilag
Marcial Kasilag was a 1904 pensionado to the US and a prominent pioneer civil engineer. He was the first registered civil engineer of the Philippines and the father of National Artist for Music Lucrecia Kasilag.
The Philippine Society of Civil Engineers (PSCE) was formed sometime in the late twenties. It was the country’s first civil engineering organization with the late Eng'r. Marcial Kasilag as its first president. Engr. Marcial Kasilag holds the No.1 slot in the PRC Registry of Civil Engineers. He then occupied a high-ranking position in the government. He was the commissioner for Mindanao and Sulu.
