About Margaret Elaine Bourgeois
Written by her Granddaughter Naomi in memorial
Grandma and Nothing Else
Most people knew her as Margaret. My Mom and Aunt knew her as Mom, I knew her as Grandma and nothing else. I can remember someone asking her name, I replied "Grandma." I can remember the lady laughing, I couldn't have told you why. She is and will always be Grandma to me and nothing else. I can remember a time when I would sit on her lap and she would read to me out of Georgies Christmas Carol, Babar, Jenny Wren's New House, and our favorite Mr. Bear Squash-You-All-Flat. I will always remember the times during dinner She and Grandpa would tell stories of when they were younger, like times she would bring her dates to the dance hall where he worked and then flirt with him instead of her date, of course this story was ended by them teasing each other saying that the other was the bigger flirt. It is dinners like these I will never forget. I will always remember her love for stuffed animals, and chocolates (esp Almond Roca and Chocolate Covered Cherries). I will always remember her ability to remember people, their names, and birthdays (I don't think she ever forgot one). I will remember her love for all people and her will to hold on. I am sure each of us remembers something different and we should hold those memories dear but most of all I think we should remember her love for us and our love for her.
