Margaret Owen was born December 06, 1821 in Owen Co., Indiana. As a child she moved with her parents to Adams County, Illinois. About a week short of her 17th birthday, on Nov. 25, 1838 she married 18 year old Samuel D. Davis in Adams County, Illinois.

1870 Caldwell Co., MO. Census showed John H., Margaret, Rachel, Samuel P. and Rachael Owen age 71 in the household with Samuel D. and Margaret Owen Davis.

At the age of 63, Margaret Owen Davis married Thomas Gray.

Margaret and Samuel D. Davis have a combination tombstone in Black Oak Cemetery near other Davis and Owens as well as Monday Vanderpool, their son-in-law. Margaret's inscription was recorded on May 22, 1998 by Brenda Vanderpool Brockman and reads as follows:

MARGARET wife of S. D. Davis born Dec. 6, 1821 died Feb. 2, 1905
