Margaret Gedge

Neere unto this place resteth in peace the body of Edward Eliott, late of Newland, in the county of Essex, Esq., son of John Eliott of Stortford, in the county of Hertford. He tooke wife Jane one of the daughters of James Gedge, son and heire of Margaret Gedge, one of the daughters and heire of Thomas Barfield, of Sheffield; by whom he had issue 4 sonnes and 6 daughters. They lived together in married estate 33 yeres, and he decesed the 22 day of Decemb in the yere of our Lorde 1595 Etatis suae 60 Sold by Messrs Sotheby, Wilkinson, and Hodge, 8 July 1873.[1] (Here is a link to a photograph on Flickr of the brass monument mentioned above.)
