1694-1710: Documents anent business affairs and executry of Maj Walter Cheislie [Chiesley] of Dalry (dec 1700), and intromissions of his executors, eg Margaret Nicolson [Nicholson], relict of John Cheislie of Dalry, his mother, Thomas, Robert and Samuel Cheislie, his brothers, and Rachel Cheislie, spouse of James Erskine, Lord Grange, Katherine Cheislie, spouse of George Wallace of Monkcastle, and Margaret Cheislie, his sisters. ncluded are - confirmed testament dative and inventory of goods rouped, 31 May 1709; receipt, 25 Jul 1694, by John Broune [Brown] in Megetland [Meggetland] for 226 thraves of pease straw as steelbow straw of lands of Gorgie, held by him in tack; and assignation, Jun 1610, by Thomas Otterburne [Otterburn], elder of Redhall, to James Duncan, master tailor to the Queen, of annualrent from lands of Gorgie [Edinburgh]. References occur to estates of Dalry and Gorgie, purchased by Sir Robert Blackwood, merchant, sometime dean of guild of Edinburgh, and George Lind, bailie of Edinburgh.
