Margaret O'Brien was the daughter of Conor O'Brien, 2nd Earl of Thomond.1 She married James Butler, 2nd/12th Baron Dunboyne, son of Edmund Butler, 1st/11th Baron Dunboyne and Julia MacCarthy.1 She died on 20 February 1636/37.1
As a result of her marriage, Margaret O'Brien was styled as Baroness Dunboyne. Her married name became Butler.1
