At least one pedigree published by MyHeritage claims that Margaret Sempill, here treated, is the daughter of Robert Semple and his wife Eupham Grintoun, and that she was born o 31 July 1681. This is wrong. MyHeritage

The man who married Eupham Grintoun was Robert Semple, Writer in Edinburgh This couple were booked for marriage at Edinburgh on 10 March 1678 [NRS: OPR.685/1/44] Image of Marriage Record but birth or baptismal records cannot be found for any children that they may have had. It is possible that Robert Semple, Writer in Edinburgh had a child, name not known, who was interred in Greyfriars burying-ground in Edinburgh on 29 May 1684, but the name of this child's mother is not known.
