On May 10, 1637, John Thurston age 36 and his wife Margaret age 32 were passengers for New England in the Mary Anne of Yarmouth, England. They brought 2 sons with them and were received in church in Dedham, Mass. - she 6/28/1640, he 3/28/1642.

He became a freeman 5/10/1643, had a grant of land in Dedham, 2/16/1643. His estate was part of Medfield set off from Dedham in 1651. The family settled in adjoining towns of Wrenthan and Medfield
