Margaret Wilson

Immigration to Melbourne on 05/01/1853 on the ship "James Brown". Landed at Geelong.

Margaret died about 4 months after she arrived in Victoria. Have no idea how, just that she died on 27/05/1853, aged 33 and that she arrived on the "James Brown".

Husband James Wilson remarried later in 1853 to Janet Dick formerly of Linlithgow.

A lot of trees have her parents as Alexander Punton and Margaret Begbie born 28/11/1822 in Aberlady, but this is not correct. Margaret born to Alex and Margaret was still on the 1841 census with her brother Peter's family as Margaret Punton. She married John Herke in 1844 in Aberlady.This Margaret married ;James Wilson in 1838 in Abercorn.

Margaret and James are buried with the same plot no in Geelong Cemetery.
