Kiel—Mrs. Mary Klauck, nee Backus, the wife of John Klauck Sr. and an older resident of Kiel, passed away on Saturday morning. She was born in Theilen, the province of Trier, Germany and reached the age of 68 years and 3 months. She lived in Mequon, Ozaukee County for 49 years before coming to Kiel. She had 14 children of which 9 sons and 3 daughters are still living; Joseph of Stanley; Heinrich of Withee; August in Marshfield; Mathias in Sheboygan; Bernhard in Milwaukee; John, Frank, Nicholas, Wilhelm; Mrs. John Meinert, Mrs. Arvis Hein, and Mrs. John Groth all of Kiel.
