Necesito informacion o descendientes de esta familia que vivia en Ponce a principios de 1800.Descendian de un italiano Domingo Scotti o Escotti.

My name is Luis Guzman Cordero Natural Ponce and now living in Orlando, FL. A few months ago I started a genealogical study of my famila in which I found myself with a family name from my maternal line that intrigues me a lot because I find historical records of people with this name, and to make it more intriguing I still realize that the name is not written as I thought (in the confusion of French or Italian origin of the name I realized that family records of my family spelled two ways). The surname is Escot according to the death certificate of Donato Zayas Escot but the list of deaths of his brother Escotti write. The name is Italian and Escotti uncommon in PR. Donato Zayas Escot (Escotti) was the brother of Francisco Zayas Escotti and both children of Rosa Escot (Escotti). Already knowing that mistakenly wrote the name on the death certificate of Donato (the father of my great great grandfather) and having evidence that is really Escotti I would like to investigate more about the origin of this name and my family line for Escotti. Donato married a lady called Santiago-Diaz Ponce. I have some information (Donato death certificate and their descendants) but I see that you also have some information about this family. I would like to share what you know about the Escotti and thus help resolve the origin of Rosa Escot (Escotti) mother of Donato Zayas Escot (Escotti). I have the permission to visit the parishes of Yauco, Penuelas and Ponce and I'll be in Ponce, PR for early March visiting the parish registers of Penuelas and Ponce and I can share the information you find with you.

Mi nombre es Luis Cordero Guzman natural de Ponce y ahora vivo en Orlando, FL. Hace unos meses comence un estudio genealogico de mi famila en la cual me encontre con un apellido por parte de mi linea materna que me intriga mucho ya que no encuentro records historicos de personas con este apellido, y para hacerlo mas intrigante todavia me doy cuenta que el apellido no se escribe como pensaba (dentro de la confusion del origen Frances o italiano del apellido me di cuenta que los records familiares de mi familia lo deletreaban de dos maneras). El apellido es Escot segun el acta de defuncion de Donato Zayas Escot pero en la lista de defunciones de su hermano se escribe Escotti. El apellido Escotti es italiano y poco comun en PR. Donato Zayas Escot (Escotti) era hermano de Francisco Zayas Escotti y ambos hijos de Rosa Escot (Escotti). Ya sabiendo que se escribio erroneamente el apellido en el certificado de defuncion de Donato (el padre de mi tatarabuelo) y teniendo evidencia de que es realmente Escotti me gustaria investigar mas sobre el origen de este apellido y mi linea familiar por los Escotti. Donato se caso con una dama de apellido Santiago-Diaz de Ponce. Yo tengo alguna informacion (acta de defuncion de Donato y sus decendientes) pero veo que usted tambien tiene algo de informacion sobre esta familia. Me gustaria que compartiera lo que sabe de los Escotti y de esta manera ayudarme a resolver el origen de Rosa Escot (Escotti) madre de Donato Zayas Escot (Escotti).
