Trekked up to Kenya with her Husband and daughter from South Africa. They settled in Eldoret and had a coffee farm. Did very well until her husband drank himself to death. They lost the farm!! She later moved to her daughters home in Tanzania where she eventually died of diabetic complications. Her last years were very lonely as she was sequestered into the guest house with very little contact with people. To make matters worse she was unable to communicate in English and her very young Grandkids had a limited vocabulary in Afrikaans.
