Mariam was a daughter of Kocheria of the Vamattam branch of the Vattakkattu family of Mylacombu where one of the earliest churches in Kerala was located. (http://wikimapia.org/14758636/St-Thomas-Church#/photo/2349133). She was slim, 5 feet 2 inches in height, generous, loving and much loved. She was a good talker according to her grandson Devasya (former clerical officer during World War 2 and school master later on) Kocheria was a leader of the community and spent much time attending to the public affairs of the community. He was the Chief Trustee of 3 churches of Mylacombu, Kothamangalam and Arukuzha and well versed in Malayalam, Tamil and Sanskrit.
Mariam's older sister married into the Parekkattil family and among her descendants is her great grandson: Mar Jacob Angadiath, Bishop of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago, born on October 26, 1945 to parents Ulahannan and Mariam Angadiath of Periappuram, Ernakulam District, Kerala.
