Obituary for Marian L. "Carlson" Bjugstad Edgerton

Marian L. "Carlson" Bjugstad, age 87, formerly of Edgerton, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Evansville Manor, Evansville. Marian was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Edgerton, the daughter of the late Melvin and Ella Senora (Lokken) Nettum. She married Harry Carlson, Oct. 25, 1941, in Utica. He died Jan. 10, 1980. She then married Oscar Bjugstad, Nov. 14, 1981, at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church. Oscar died March 15, 1992. Marian was a true farmer's wife, helping in all aspects of the day to day operations. She also worked away from the farm, working at Nunn Bush Shoe Factory for a short time before going back to school at Madison Area Technical College. After receiving her diploma, she then worked for more than 25 years as a dietary supervisor for Edgerton Hospital and Health Services. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, dancing, and playing cards, but Marian truly loved baking, and will be missed by many for her baked treats which she so generously gave away! She is survived by her three children, Sharon Terese of Milton, Harriet (David) Witt of Whitehall, and Duane (Cherie) Carlson of Edgerton; seven grandchildren, Sandy (Carl) McNutt, Vicki Crandall, Sonia (Eric) Klingbeil, Eric Witt, Geoffrey Witt, Keith Carlson, and Casey (Natalie) Carlson; seven great-grandchildren and another due in January, Nathon, Laci, Austin, Brennan, Lilly, Dillon and Alex; and two sisters, Evelyn George of Randolph and Verna Evenson of Rockdale. Besides her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Phil Terese. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at EAST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH with Pastor Clint Schnekloth officiating. Burial will be in Fassett Cemetery in Edgerton. Visitation time will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton is assisting the family.
