Marie-Anne Pierrette Paulze (20 January 1758 – 10 February 1836), was a French chemist. She was born in the town of Montbrison, Loire, in a small province in France. She is most commonly known as the spouse of Antoine Lavoisier (Madame Lavoisier) but many do not know of her accomplishments in the field of chemistry: she acted as the laboratory assistant of her spouse and contributed to his work.
