Marie Catherine Kapples, 91, of Monroeville, formerly of West Mifflin, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Eileen Morgan, in New Sewickley. Born Sept. 29, 1921, in Republic, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Karce Poyma. A member of Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin, she also was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers at Holy Trinity Church, Clairton Senior Citizens, the former West Mifflin Annex Senior Citizens and the former Knights of Columbus Senior Citizens. Marie was the wife of the late Albert T. Kapples. Her survivors include her children, Paulette (Kenneth) Mease, of Gaithersburg, Md., Linda (William) Evancho, of McCandless Township, Beverly (William) Kelmickis, of Monroeville, Eileen (Gary) Morgan, of New Sewickley, and Thomas (Julie) Kapples, of Bethel Park; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Joseph Poyma, Pauline Walters, John Poyma and Margaret Kovalic. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, and William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home Saturday, May 25, 2013, followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, with the Rev. Joseph Grosko and the Rev. Alexis Anania OFM officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
