Marie Jeanette Kuhn

Marie J. Kuhn, age 88, formerly of Elkhart Lake, died Thursday evening, October 18, 2012 at Villa Loretto Nursing Home, Mt. Calvary where she resided the past three years. She was the former Marie Preder, born July 7, 1924 in the Town of Holland, daughter of the late Henry & Cornelia (Sandee) Preder. On April 24, 1948 she married Lester Kuhn in the Town of Lima. The couple enjoyed nearly 58 years together until Lester preceded her in death on April 16, 2006. Marie was very proud to be a housewife and mother. She also farmed in the Town of Rhine with her husband, Lester Marie was a member of Community UCC, Elkhart Lake. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and reading. Survivors include her children: Donna (John) Jost, Fond du Lac, Jack Kuhn, Elkhart Lake, Mark (Lori) Kuhn, Elkhart Lake, four grandchildren; Amy (Andrew Jadgfeld) Jost, Fond du Lac, Angie (Trevor) Kreitzman, Waupun, Kayla & Adam Kuhn, Elkhart Lake and one great granddaughter, Brynn Marie Kreitzman. She is further survived by two sisters, Lorraine Meyer, Sun Prairie, LaVerne Strean, Sheboygan, in-laws, Elmer Kuhn, Elkhart Lake, Viola Feldmann, Elkhart Lake, Marge Preder, Elkhart Lake, Bernice Preder, New Holstein, James Miller, Elkhart Lake, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerome, Edwin, Raymond & Richard Preder, two sisters, Ruth Bein, Henrietta Miller, along with many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. Funeral services for Marie will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Garden of Peace Mausoleum, Town of Sheboygan. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name for Villa Loretto Nursing Home. Marie's family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Villa Loretto for the wonderful care and comfort shown to Marie and her family.
