Marie Blanchard was an orphan sent to Québec by the King of France to wed. She therefore had the name of fille du Roi (daughter of the King). She had no endowment known so far. She came from Normandie, France and arrived in Nouvelle-France on September 25, 1667 on the ship "Le Saint Louis."
