WARNER, Marjorie (Johnston) Marjorie (Johnston) Warner, 82, of Vernon, beloved wife of 60 years to Robert F. Warner, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 23, 2010 with her family at her side. Born in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Frank and Ann Johnston, she lived in Indianapolis, Indiana and Washington, Illinois before moving to Vernon in 1968. Marjorie was a member of the First Congregational Church of Vernon. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, was a former Girl Scout Leader, and member of the Vernon Garden Club. Marjorie was also a volunteer at Rockville General Hospital for several years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Besides her husband, she is survived by her beloved children, daughter Lisa Warner of Pomfret and her son Mark Warner and his wife Lisa of Alexandria, Virginia and their three children, Madison, Gillian and Eliza; two nieces, Sheryl Ann Warner and Holly Johnston and two nephews, Gary Joe Warner and Michael Johnston. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Johnston, a sister-in-law, Maxine Johnston and a nephew, Johnny Wayne Warner. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 5–7 p.m. at the Ladd Funeral Home, 19 Ellington Avenue, Rockville. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Vernon, 695 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut, Hospice, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT 06066.
