Marjy Loretta Staats (Standley)

"Marjy L. Staats, 78, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, in Wichita.

"She was born May 20, 1932, in Cimarron, to Milton and Irene Kenton Standley.

'A resident of Scott City since 1958, Mrs. Staats was a homemaker and worked as a nurse's aide at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

"On Aug. 5, 1949, she married Glen F. Staats in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Ronald Staats of Cimarron; a daughter, Glenda Welch of Salina; two brothers, Don Standley of Las Vegas, Nev., and John P. Standley of Canon City, Colo.; a sister, Mary Jo Fortsch of Las Vegas, Nev.; a half sister, Teena McBride of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two stepsisters, Sandra Burton of Dodge City, and Jackie Conrady of Idaho Falls; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Staats; a grandson; and her stepmother, Mildred Standley.

"Funeral was at First Christian Church in Scott City. Burial was at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City."
