Born to Thomas J. Young (1890-1955) & Iva Mae Anders Young (1893-1987), who married April 5, 1909, in Franklin County, MS. Martha married Robert J. Culotta on Aug. 16, 1953, in Pike County. Three children.

From the McComb Enterprise-Journal, Jan. 20, 2011:

Martha Young Culotta, 84, of McComb, died Jan. 18, 2011, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 tonight at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and continues there at 1 p.m. Friday until services at 2. The Revs. Charles Ray of J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church and Cliff Evans of Holmesville Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit.

Mrs. Culotta was born Oct. 9, 1926, in the Franklin County community of Lucien, to Thomas J. and Iva M. Young.

She was a member of Holmesville Baptist Church. Martha was a wonderful wife, parent and grandparent. She was a great cook and loved to read. She enjoyed her family and friends and was a blessing to all who knew her.

Mrs. Culotta was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert J. Culotta; a daughter, Iva Nora Culotta Stinson; five sisters, Alyene Shoup, Lola Young, Billye Yorke, Dot Young and Anne Cutrer; and her parents, all of Mars Hill and Pike and Amite counties.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Culotta; a daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Phil Terrell; grandsons, Scott Burris and Philip Terrell and wife Shiloh; a granddaughter, Amber Mize and husband Ronnie; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Young Jr. and Irene of Cocoa, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Ginther of Bogue Chitto; a brother-in-law, Vincent Culotta and his daughters, Felicia and Vicki Culotta; special friends, Teny Tuminello and Ruby Gautney; plus a host of nieces, nephews and great-grand children.

Pallbearers will be Walter Temple, Charles Culotta, Ronnie Mize, Philip Terrell, Tommy Pickett and Bill LeMaire. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Pickett, Tommy Culotta and Vincent Culotta.
