From the Provo Daily Herald: 11 January 1967 Martha Buys Giles, 81 Wasatch County Native Dies In Salt Lake TABIONA, Duchesne County – Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at noon in the Heber Sixth LDS Ward for Martha Buys Giles, 81, who died of natural causes Monday afternoon at the home of a grandson in Salt Lake City.
She was born April 15, 1885, in Buysville, Wasatch County, the daughter of Edward and Celestia Clarissa Bromley Buys. She was married to Thomas Monroe Giles, Oct. 17, 1904, in Heber City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died July 16, 1956. She was a former president of the Red Cliff LDS Ward Primary in Hanna, Duchesne County, and a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Survivors include sons and daughters, Ray Giles, Anderson, Calif.; Mrs. George A. (Grace) Giles, and Mrs. Venice (Stela) Turnbow, both of Tabiona; Earl Giles of Heber City; Mrs. Lloyd (Marvel) Pace, Hunter; J. Kent Giles of Elko, Nev., and Don Giles of Salt Lake City; 60 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sisters, Archie D. Buys of Heber City; Mrs. Celia McGuire of Daniels, Wasatch County, and Mrs. Clara Cummings of Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary in Heber City, this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. And Thursday prior to service. Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery (Obituary sent to me by Wayne Nerger)
