NOTES
There is another Martha Rice, born in 1703, who is being confused on the internet with this Martha Rice. For instance: [4] cites the Daniel Howard A. M. book, but gives an entirely different publishing date and place for it, and in so citing, references another Martha Rice mentioned here on wikitree.com who was married to somebody completely different.
BUT SEE: https://books.google.de/books?id=BskWAwAAQBAJ&pg=PA130&lpg=PA130&dq... = Ward, Andrew Henshaw; A Genealogical History of the Rice Family; C. Benjamin Richardson; Boston, Massachusetts, USA; 1858; p. 39. This lists Martha Rice as per the above birthdate and parents, and as having married a JONATHAN HOWARD. Later in the same entry, her father's and mother's wills both mention MARTHA BANNISTER. The father's will was proved December 5, 1741; the mother's December 1, 1755. This information conforms with information found on page 9 of the Daniel Howard book, History of Isaac Howard....where it states that Abraham Howard was reported by his grandnephew to have come to America with a brother JOHN, who settled in Warwick, RI, and became a prosperous farmer. The question comes down to whom did Isaac/John/Jonathan Howard marry, when, and for how long. But I am now convinced that the Martha Rice who married Isaac Howard is completely different from she who married Jonathan Hayward in the Rice book. The Children are different and death dates of the husbands are different.
