Martha Lamar Adamson was born about 1838 (a) in Jonesboro, Clayton County, Georgia, daughter of Augustus Young Adamson and Martha (Bowden) Adamson. She is the sister (a) of John Coates (1832), James Rufus (1834), Alfred Young (1837), Nancy Matilda (about 1838), Lillie (1840) Adamson and half sister of William Russell (1845), Samuel Taylor (1847), Augustus Franklin (1851), Ella Jane (1855), Julia Ann Luther (1859) and Alexander (1861) Adamson.

She married Simeon Asberry Dease. They had the following seven Dease children; Henry Asbury (1862), Sophronia Milam (1865), Augustus (1867), Emmanuel (1870), Alfred A. (1872), Elbert Walter (1875) and Luther Eugene (1879) Dease.

On April 13, 1892, Martha L. (Adamson) Dease, about age 54, died in Rex, Georgia with burial in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Morrow, Clayton County, Georgia.
