Not the same as Martha Foster
The only mention of “Martha Taliaferro” is in Robert Taliaferro’s 1728 will. She is not mentioned in Matthews records, so presume she was 1) of age in 1728 2) not the daughter of his widow Elizabeth Matthews.
Was she the wife of Anthony Foster ?

Note: From Taliaferro genforum post #92, by Velma T. Parmerton (vltp@aol.com): "Martha was the daughter of (this) Robert 1688-1728 (w dated 2/1/1727) who married a first wife that no one knows (Ann?). His 2nd wife was 1710 Elizabeth Mathews. Robert was the s/o John & Sarah (Smith), d/o Lawrence & Mary. Martha was cut off in Robert's will with just "a gold ring". Nothing more is known except her children and the fact that Anthony m 2. widow Sarah Sparks and he mentions his step-daughter Sarah in his will. Alot of these Fosters went to NC into Ashe/Alleghany." More info via email from Velma: "Robert Taliaferro's will confirms that Martha was his daughter... Robert Taliaferro was s/o John "The Ranger" and Sarah Smith, who was son of Robert (immigrant) & Catherine Debnam, who was s/o Francis & Bennett Hay/Gray, who was s/o Bartholomew & Joane Layne."
However, according to Foster researchers, Taliaferro researchers failed to substantiate the claim.

Anthony Foster Brother of George Foster
Anthony Foster (Robert1) was born circa 1693-1698 in Essex County, Virginia and died on February 4, 1763 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, at age 70. He was born ca 1698 or before, since he witnessed a deed on December 1, 1719 when his brother, John Foster, bought 100 acres of land in St. Anne’s Parish, Essex County from Wm. Stapp and Joshus Stapp for 20 pounds sterling (legal age was 21 years for witnessing). Anthony married Martha circa 1720 in Essex County. Martha is thought by many Foster researchers to be a Taliaferro. However, Taliaferro family researchers contacted failed to find a Martha Taliaferro who married an Anthony Foster.
